greystones (rocks near the harbour)

#1 Post by eric »

People:me,al and mb3

Duration:12-4:30

Tide:who knows

Weather:clam and overcast

Bait:peeler,mussel,mack,rag and lug

Rigs:2 hook loop and 3 hook flapper

Results:common dragonet,whiting,sand goby,dab,coallie,codling

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report:went out to greystones to fish with mb3 and al, i arrived a bit early to get to grips wit the mark as ive never fished it. started off at distance off the rocks onto sand and with no fish coming in the first hour it was obvious i was of the hot spot then all of a sudden the fish came on the feed. i landed two coalies of around a pound and that was soon followed by a small codling. then i met the lads and they told me that theey where moving down closer to the harbour. i had one more cast and landed my first decent cod of the year at around a pound and a half.
i then moved down to meet up with them and so began a mini species bash including an octopus and a stone eating whiting. i left at half 4 and they stayed on.
