Carrig Island West, Co. Limerick 31st October 2007

#1 Post by kieran »

People: Me

Duration: 2 hours

Tide: HW dropping

Weather: squally SW, dropping to pleasant calm

Bait: frozen sandeel and razor

Rigs: pulley and 3 hook flapper

Results: 1 dogfish landed, 1 small bull huss dropped on the edge

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Had a few hours to kill, went out past the old battery past the stone wall, just past what could be called a small sea cave and cast out trying the Triplex. Wind was tricky but died off towards midday. Only had frozen and half expected to blank. Rocks destroyed 15 lb snoods on the 3 hook flapper, need to upgrade to 25 and use a lead lift or something.

Nice to be out...

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...

2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks
