Bray Head 24/10/2007

#1 Post by bovenip »

People: Just me

Duration: 4:00 - 6:00

Weather: Settled

Bait: Lures

Results: 1 bass, 1 sea trout

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Left work a bit early to try lure fishing in Killiney but when I got into my car i decided give Bray a go instead. Started at the shallow rock marks between Bray Beach and The Cove on the North side of Bray Head and on my first cast I got a good take that I failed to hook. 3 casts later I managed to land a nice schoolie on an 18g Spinnex Trofast (these things have been lethal for me all year but I'm down to my last one now and can't find them anywhere!) Things went quiet then for a while but I managed to lose another fish before catching a sea trout of about 1lb before it got dark.

Spinnex lures here:

They look good alright, which colour did you use?
You can buy them on the website - from Poland

Hi Cortaz,

Here's a pic of the lure

[img:210:49]http://www.spinnex.pl/i/wahad/trofast.jpg[/img]

The red attractor at the end of the lure falls off after a few fish, but the action of the lure is great - especially when reeled in really fast. We brought a wide variety of lures to kerry with us this year and they outfished the others by a huge margin, even those of similar weights, colours and sizes.

Cheers for the link 2Poc - I've tried ordering them on this site before but it doesn't accept credit cards and you just fill in your name and email address and (I assume) they get back to you, but they never did! I wish they would - 2.90 each is a giveaway compared to the price i paid for them this year! It was the silver ones I bought, but there's some great patterns on that site that I'd love to try...

Thanks
Pete
