boycie89 wrote:you actually have a bass DVD ???!!       HOW SAD !!! if you need any advice on how to catch anything other than a bass give me a shout !!!

push the fish to the camera , oldest trick in the book , may fool all the guys on this site, exept ADAM S he actually thought the fish ,as i do around 4LBS,NOT MUCH BIGGER THAN A DECENT SCOOLIE,,and the cod will never make 5lbs while its got a hole in its axxxxxxe,
and going all the way to yougal from the big smoke for what seems 2 very medeocre fish, suppose you have to do some romancing,,
and yes young man lets get it on in a cod match we will see how many 5 lbs you get then,,
and as to stevecrow do not buy sea angler if you cannot read ,as it is said on the marmalade tin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Easy lads.... Caz, I can only assume you're having a chuckle at winding people up here as its clear from the pic that unless Dennis has hands the size of my 2 year old that is indeed a hefty fish.
Fluff chucking is the new black..... Rampant Wreckfish is a fly angler in denial :D

holding fish out , towards the camera just makes for a better picture IMO (where else would you put them, behind your back??), yes you can over do it but i dont think that fish is pushed out particularly far.

but just to clarify i said that i did think that the bass could go 9lbs. cant comment on the cod as i dont fish for them

Been a lot of bad things said here on this thread starting from my original comment that i do not believe that the bass in the pic at yougal was not 9lbs9oz,,obviously touched a nerve,,
now scaling the fish after downloading to my pictures i make the length of the fish an absolute maximum of 600mm or just under 24 inch relative to the captures finger spread and other simple calculations,,
so allowing for bulking for the time of year we are looking at a fish on the length to weight ratio of a absolute maximum of 6lb.5oz,,
all i can say to you guys that want the glory roaming the country on fishing exploits which i do admire you all ,loved sea angling for 40 yrs keep it real and honest when reports go in,and what you have to remember is that its not only the guys on the site that you are cheating its yourselfs a fish of 6.5 is a fantastic fish so why elaborate??
as a matter of interest a fish of 9,9 would have been73 cm or or 29 inches long to the length weight ratio

Dbrock's left hand is more forward than his right therefore he is holding the fish at an angle so ya cant measure the true length, your seen it at a slight perspective view so if ya scaled of this picture you cant get its true length. the fish would need to be parallel to the camera to get an accurate scaled length.

is that the best you could do??

i might be thick cut, but at least its the good stuff i'm cut from :D

cazbass wrote:now scaling the fish after downloading to my pictures i make the length of the fish an absolute maximum of 600mm

did you get permission to download it??

and i dont know what calculator you were using, you should probably go back to using an abacus.

this year i caught a bass measuring 50cm (500mm to you) and weighed in at just over 3lbs, but 2 yrs ago i caught a bass that was 62cm(620mm to you) and it weighed in at 8lbs 8oz, (just goes to show you cant judge weight by length)and if you look at the bass posted

it aint skinny(neither is the person holding it) and its obviously more than 60cm(600mm to you), i personally would put it at around 70-74cm(700-740mm to you)

this argument has become pointless, i believe the fish is the weight it has been stated , 9.9lbs. even if it wasn't whats the point in creating a big deal about it, no ones dead, the fish was returned every things ok, get over it cazz.

mr crow having landed the grand total of two bass up to now this year as noticed in your catch reports i bow to your superior knowlege of this great species,,,
i do not consider you comments ,due to your experience of catching bass, a viable scourse do you know the size of a 74 cm 740mmbass??
as the man said its getting bigger
