Ardglass 04/06/07

Went to a mark I know near ardglass today after work....tide was nearly out, steady north wind.... I saw locals in boats around 300-600 yards range off Phennick point pulling in 5 mackerel a cast for 3 hours solid...the sea was alive with them,....I ended up with about 8 from the shore at full cast, all singles using shrimp-like sabiki's. I also caught a few pollack and about 20 coalfish on spun sandeels.......not a bad few hours......not many seals about yet, thank god!

Report

Venue-Howth Balscadden
Date-04/06/07
Time-8.00-8.30
Rig-Silver jig
Results-6 mackeral

Convinced the girlfriend to go for a spin to Howth from there I just happened to have a rod in my boot so said i had to try for a few minutes. Got six at once and a seal attacked them on the rig stripping 3 then the fun began trying to lift them up a huge cliff with a small trout rod. got 3 of them in and had another cast which resulted in another 2 and then one later on. An enjoyable half hour!!!
