Year almost up, so how was the fishing?, ddnt fish as much as i would have liked 2, still had 900 odd, and about 1500 guidiin/wit mates biggest 9lb+, about 700 between 23/4 and 14/5/10, the fish seemed to be gone when the season reopened and only returned in numbers around end aug. set/oct were good wit plenty of med sized fish about, i post a sulunar chart showing same,................................

Ok lads/ladies, i have just spent the last 3 hrs reading all the replies on this topic and its amazing. Like a lot of other people my fishing revolves around my free time but i think i will have to start managing my free time around my fishing. Cortaz, this has to be one of the most interesting posts i have read and look forward to more of your predictions/results in the furture. You should change the title of the post to 'New Comers Must Read'. Cheers...
Good things come to those who bait.

The conditions are an important factor too. If the surf is too big then it is a lot more difficult and the scent of the bait too dispersed. This time of year daylight fishing is going to be poor too.

But the solunar theory seems to work well for me the other night.

Full Moon 18th Feb - prediction best day for fishing
Peak time 12.20 - 2.20 am
http://www.solunarforecast.com/worldcalendar.aspx
Of the 6 bass I had the night of 17th/18th, I got five of them within the predicted peak time.
The conditions were ideal so the predictions worked well.

However, if there was a big surf thundering in and a lot of weed, or if there had been a very weak surf I think the result would have been a lot poorer.

Well Arthur, you are dead right was out spotting in a couple of places and the numbers of bass to be seen is unreal... only thing is they don't seem to be switched on to lures yet although I did manage a few
Everyone should believe in something; I believe I’ll go fishing.

The Bass have returned WOOOHOOO 8) I'v had 6 so far and all in March nothing big from schoolies to 4lb. I had a double figure fish spit the hook on me today on my first cast less than 12ft from me  Solid fight all the way to me , she was caught in the backwash of the first wave . I saw it on the surface for a few seconds and she looked full to the gills with food or roe probably both! but with a shake of the head the line went slack  it would have been returned but would have liked to hold it for an auld grip n grin . Thats why it's called fishing and not catching
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !
