17-02-07

People: Me and Gearoid

Duration: 10am to 1 pm

Tide: low water 11.15am

Weather: very nice, calm light NW breeze, sunny

Bait: Mackerel, Sandeels, Squid.

Rigs: Wishbones, Pulley Pennels.

Results: Me 2 small thornies. Gearoid 2 thornies, 1 4.75lb , 1 dog and a 26cm dab.

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Big tide this weekend so we decided to go looking for some ray. Headed to a venue which was likely to yield some, along with other species. We both fished 2 rods at distance.

Rigs comprised of Wishbones with size 1 and 1/0 B940s and Pulleys size 1/0 25lb snoods. Gearoid got a decent ray nearly tipping 5, putting a nice bend in his rod. Fishing died down about 12.

Well worth the trip, weather was lovely, like summer, and few nice fish today.

Forgot to mention Gearoid dropped a ray 10 yards out

I will have to get brendan to write down the results in future.

Not the best days fishing we have had , but a good days fishing all the same. Nice to get the pics up on the site. The close up on the rays eyes is good.

I think ye should fish the mark next Saturday evening over LW. Should be a few more fish around.
