Shocking  Hope the confidence hasn't taken too much of a blow! Know it can be difficult to shake the nerves after such an incident. The other night I just happened to stumble upon a previous report on the pier by yourself where you had a lot of reports under the one heading, made for some great reading, and to think that some lowlifes could jeopardise future reports by yourself on what I'd essentially describe as "your" mark, is quite sickening. Here's hoping Karma pays them a visit

Drew wrote:To all Anglers who will be considering fishing Donaghadee pier, or indeed visiting Donaghadee, I urge you not to. My reports of anti social kids during the summer have now escalated to a criminal situation.
This evening, Myself, my Nephew, and a Friend were set upon by about a dozen of the local youth as we left the venue. Relevant authorities have been contacted, and I'm waiting to see where it goes. Danny's pretty badly bruised, my face is swollen, and we're pretty badly shaken up.
Really can't see myself fishing locally again.... or maybe fishing again for that matter.
All the best.

I wrote to the "Spectator" (local paper) the Summer before last about the louts hanging around the Pier.

It was only a matter of time before someone got attacked!

Sad.
