excellent result paula!!
. you really deserved that after all the effort you put in this summer (while watching norman pulling them in
). i'm made up for you that your persistance paid off big time in the end
. looks like you have the bragging rites over norman for a while

Re: My BIGGEST Mullet Ever! - Strangford Lough 2nd August 2010.
Thank you all so much for your kind comments and replies. I would love to reply to you all individually but it would just take me too long. What can I say? Apart from it’s been over two weeks now since I caught my new PB mullet and still the big smile hasn’t left my face!
I’ll not forget that night for a very long time to come. Catching it has made my year.........anything else now that I catch will be a bonus. Thanks for all your support and encouragement guys, it’s kept me going when I felt like giving up which I very nearly did a couple of times this year I am so glad that I didn’t now!
It hasn’t been that easy watching K2 catch fish after fish after fish while I have blanked!
Catching another mullet that size will be hard to do but I’ll have fun trying!!
Thanks again.

Re: My BIGGEST Mullet Ever! - Strangford Lough 2nd August 2010.
What a beauty, and the fish aint too bad either
Congratulations on getting your specimen Paula, as I read your report it brought back the way I was feeling when I locked onto a Mullet just over 5lb,
I too begin to pray that it wouldn’t get away, the power in these fish of that size amazed me, I had the drag full on the fly reel as I tried to net it but it still took line, sounds like you played it just right and I have to say that seeing your pictures has made my mind up to go try for a mullet before they vanish from my area,
Very well done and a great report, well worth waiting for a fish like that and I can understand how your still buzzing from the session

Re: My BIGGEST Mullet Ever! - Strangford Lough 2nd August 2010.
I didn't read the post earlier cos I thought emmm mollet, but that fish was awsome. Looking at the shape of the body, this species must have been twice the power of the silver thing. Very well done indeed to land it.
Hmm, I now can fish for: mack at rising tide, silver at high then mullet at reciding, wonder if I will ever go home..
