Was out in Dun laoghaire harbour and roundabouts today, dropped out some mackerel feathers on the handline, got 4 pollack in one shot on a red and white string, no mackeral. Others were there fishing too, I didn't see anyone bring mackerel in, although they were sitting on the wake of the ferry and I had heard that they have been taken there 4 weeks ago already.

Nothing there in numbers in any case.

I forgot to mention that this was boat based and the pollack were caught heading for Dalkey.
2008 Species: Flounder, whiting, coal fish, Dogfish, rockling, dab.

was out in the boat this evening. Caught one mackerel on sabiki type lure just north of irelands eye. Also plenty of tiny pollack and whiting there. Was anchored up at dusk off portmarnock beach and caught another on a ragworm fished on the bottom there!

Picking them up from the boat outside Cork Harbour but heard of none from the shore yet. You might try Roches Point, if there in you will pick them up here.
