as a matter of interest as I've never bothered freezing mackerel, to you use it to eat or for bait? If for bait, what kind of species would you catch from the shore on the east coast with frozen mackerel? I'm only down the road from Skerries so may try stock up myself if i can get a space at the pier!

2 hours at Clogher Head produced nothing for me or any other fisher I talked to. But I was breaking down my rod when the Seal came up with a lovely Mackerel in his mouth. Guess I gotta purchase a Diving suit!

started fishing in monkstown this morning at about half six, it was fairly quiet, my dad had three between 6:30 and 8, at 8 we decided to get on the ferry and try cobh, [good decision] the first 20 minutes were quite but after that we were busy until 12. in 4 hours we had 150 between us, at 12 we called it a day, as we were filleting them they were breaking in front of us, but if we caught any more they would have just gone to waste, freezer full, :D :D :D

Dun Laoghaire pier fished very well Sunday morning. Was fishing off west pier spinning from rocks. High tide at about 11.40. Started at 9.15 and first couple hours very slow. Caught 4. Action started about 1 or just after. Caught 20 in about 30 mins. Was catching them out at very end of cast and you needed to be out a good bit but almost catching every 2nd cast. Had to head about 2 but anywhere on pier was catching. Looks like loads being hauled in.

Not sure if they are still around the pier.

I fished on boat on Saturday for 4 hours closer to Dalkey Island and only caught 4 so think they must all be further into the bay.

Very quiet around Oranmore in Galway, was there for two hours last night and only saw 2 caught (one was caught by me), the sea weed was a real nuisance too

Anybody get any from in Cork harbour or even east or west cork lately? Tried a few marks with no luck.
