Went out out on a boat from bullock harbour on saturday. I was with my family and my girlfriend, all of whom have never been fishing before, and between us we caught 30 odd in two hours. Only went out 100 meters or so and were straight into them. It was particularly good because before saturday my sisters didn't like eating fish but we cooked them and they loved them.

Buddy went to youghal night before last...lot of macks around but he watched them swim past his hooks numerous times...strange ?????

Fish Graball bay and out along towards Weavers Pt. yest with plugs/spinners and not a thing. A seal popped his head up with a lovely flounder in his mouth so that probably scared anything else away. Plenty of smaller bords diving too around turbot bank etc. but nothing on spinners/plugs on the flood.

Moved around to Fennell's bay after that for high water and first hour of the ebb - but nothing there either again on plugs/spinners. Plenty other (as usual!) fishing rocks between myrtleville and Fennell's but no sign of anything there either.

That happened to me one night in Dalkey last year, I couldn't believe it. They'd swim right up to the lure and then ignore it. Very frustrating

12/08/10 Shoulder to shoulder job at Castle Point out the Dunlickey Road near Kilkee but still Mackerel being caught an hours fishing about 30 Macks. very small and too high up to put them back. Not very enjoyable fishing too many people! Tried Bridges of Ross bigger Macks but not as plenty-full. Only myself and pal and one other. 10 fish caught between us.
