Very Valid points about the problems you can have with the laurel sulphate, I made up a litre batch in the lab once with water, and that lasted me 4 yrs when mixed with the oil, actually I have not been able to source it since i left the lab.
I have tried winterised oils but they really don't have the same effect in my opinion.
washing up liquids are scented, and as such will taint the mix and will put the fish off (most washing up liquids and shampoo's have laurel sulphate in them) so its not worth using them.
