As previously mentioned I ordered a rod from this clown on 19th Oct. After pestering him with e-mails and always getting the usual answer...."it's the Royal Mail" he now says that I will get my money back. I wonder will the Royal Mail have a problem with the cheque. I have my doubts.

This Guy is a joke I was waiting weeks 6/8 on rods. To be honest the longbeam was a bit of a let down. It fishes like a big heavy pole and it not a rod for match fishing or light work. In its fav it does cast a long way. Not for me its just to heavy and if you see me on the beach Im no light weight so if I say its heavy well believe me.

Good stuff Stan mine arrived too, although seeing as I requested a refund last week and received a longbeam from veals last friday (€150), I wasn't as happy as I ought to be.

Still €250 for the pair's not too bad, don't think it'll help me catch anymore or bigger fish though

Ill tell you what they are good for..... I know Colins not overly impressed with his. If you are tight for room on a peg during a match for example and you need to really welly a bait out there without fear of crossing a line, reach for it. A straightforward overhead thump goes miles. I found mine had a grand bit of backbone for using at the Wall and horsing out full crab and 7-8oz of lead, the extra couple of feet in length really helped for lifting fish over snags too. As Colin says they aint no match rod and they are heavy but it does have a place. For anyone struggling for distance, stick on an FS loaded with 20-30lb braid and watch it fly.

Got mine too...

But it was BROKEN !!!!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....

Fair play to him for paying for the TNT delivery out of his own pocket though...

Well what can I say.. The guy has given me a full refund.

That is way more than I expected to be honest...
I need to try & locate a top section for the rod now myself.

What was a nightmare transaction has come good, I gave him a lot of stick but now realise that it actually wasn't his fault..
Though I was seriously drunk off having 100 quid tied up for 3 months.

Hope everyone else is happy with theirs & think hard before you give negative feedback as it will ruin the guys profile.

I am going to use it on Sunday in the Leinster league. I know I said its no match rod but I will give it one more go and see. Pete is right if you need distance its your friend. If the action start to heat up with lots of fish i,ll come home with arms like Arny    .PS I will bring a back up rod just in case.

I was trying to source a new tip section for mine yesterday.
Its going to cost 66 quid ! For a rod that cost me less than 100.

I did however go a bit wild on Ebay using the money that I was a refunded and bought a new daiwa travel rod & a daiwa regal baitrunner which I should have today :)

Used mine for the first time today and was very impresed with how easy it was to hit decent distances without much effort.

Also great when using delicate baits. Not the lightest rod as someone has said previously but bite detection was good even for small flats & whiting. A nice rod to have at your disposal!

Hi ya Colin,

I used an Aerlex 8000 and they seemed to suit each other perfectly. Too heavy to hold all day alright, but a lovely rod all the same, I'm certainly not bemoaning the fact I have a pair of them.

Hey up Col, you changed your tune rightly. Was there a moment of clarity somewhere? :D They really do feel like a pig alright but there not bad at all, especially for the cash.

Have only had mine out once so far but reading the reports on here made me worried I'd bought a pig.... not at all, was very pleasantly surprised with the bite detection even from small flatties. Granted its heavy enough, but hey, thats what tripods are for! :D
Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!
