West pier, DunLaoighre, this morning 7 Aug. Fished from around sunrise, which was around 2 hours before high tide -5:30/45am... through high tide, about 7.30... up to after 9am... no macks. Maybe 5 others there, myself and my kids, not a bite.

Beautiful morning though, well worth it.

Any day now Eoghan! There were a trickle of them being caught down there before the winds picked up over the last week but very slow so far it seems

I wasn’t fishing but I was out in skerries and I was watching a huge shoal mackerel about a mile out ,heaps of seagulls and gannets having a field day loads of white water at the surface ,skerries will definitely be worth a bash the next few days

Just a few caught in Skerries this afternoon. Good size. I had just the one. Missed a few on the float. Was using small sandeels lip hooked. Normally use mackerel belly strip so May be how I was baiting up

Lots of good size mackerel in North Clare Friday 9th. Fished about 3 hours from about 3pm. Catching them on the incoming, slack and just after the turn.

Found access to the north side of bailey lighthouse cliffs today, long way down absolutely shitting myself but anyway, fished for 2 hours over high tide with no joy, it was very rough that side of the lighthouse with much calmer waters around at the lions head which probably had better chances of mackerel..

Plenty of mac on the bottom during daylight at Gurteen all the way round to Glassilaun, which has me thinking plenty of mac to be had in west conamara from the shore
