Al I'm starting to think that you are carrying those bass around in the motor in a big tank of water and just whip them out for the odd photo shoot

A big well done 8)

   very good man. it was a spur of the moment session. so don't worry i have'nt forgot about getting you out with us seeing as you only live round the corner from us:wink: but i was just expecting the usual flattie session, not getting into contact with bass!!! :o

SO THATS WHERE ALL THE FISH HAVE GONE :P :P WELL DONE
 must be the new aftershave :!: :!: the bass are following us
Determined Dan wrote:a very well done AL a great report and great fishing by the other man. congrats on the basses and i hope the lines stay tight over the winter.
thanks dan. jordan caught 90% of his fish on that wee tubertini telescopic rod set up you all bought at the angling expo in swords. he had it set up with a 1oz pear shaped lead. so the flounder were able to lift it and zip off up and down the surf. i was laughing at him with his full houses of flounder on it. they gave him a great scrap on such a light set up :P :P . could you imagine if he had got a bass on that set up :o  :!:
cathald wrote:superb report as ever Al
well done on the Bass, I gave them a few go's this year with no joy
super fishing overall 9 species is great
Cathal
thanks cathal. that was the same as us man. we have gone out to intentionally target bass a few times this year and always come up blank  . then we go to an unknown mark or a local one we've fished intensivly over the years and we strike silver :!: go figure

flyno wrote:Excellent report again Al, one of my best sessions this year was on that beach  and it was because merv and mike (ye know who im talking about) was on a mark i had planned for and gave me a heads up to try there.. Like i said on another post, the fishing has been so bad on the louth/meath beaches for the last while, i'm gonna start heading north again, great fishing...
cheers man. the antrim coast is fishing really well at the mo. but i always like to maxamize our chances of a good session by trying to get out at the peak of activity going by the sonular theory  . that night was one of the highest nights of activity for the whole month. it never hurts to boost your chances for a good session
chuckaroo wrote:omg

i'll be down the mora!!!! :P :P
hey. not only 2 Bass but that bigger one is a fine one! great report Al. and good job in puttin them back - IMHO anyways.
and i have never seen the pier fish as well as that either. its another place where its all or nothing (usually nothing. or very little... :P )
well done lads.
im sure jordon will have his comeback/revenge in due course, soon enough. :)
nice pics too
cheers
cheers charlie. i've only ever seen 1 bass taken from there and it was 2 years ago. so i know there is always an outside chance of getting 1 if you are really lucky. but 2 was something else. we have fished that beach and harbour pretty hard over the last 3 years so have come to know it pretty well  jordan and dawsey have both had sea trout off it too, but i am still waiting on my first from there   . just because i have'nt had one, dose'nt mean they are'nt there. i suppose the same goes for the bass. i think we have a lot of success due to the ammount of hours we put in on a session  . i have seen lads turn up at a mark and fish beside us for 3 or 4 hours and put up on a report how the mark fished crap for them. but a lot of species of fish are nomadic as you know and you just have to be fortunate enough to be there when the shoal passes by in front of you. now this can be over high water or low depending on the species or even mid tide. so we always try to get in a minimum of 10 hours on a mark over different tide states to maxamize the chances of a good session   :P . and we had the white headlights on again man. did'nt annoy the bass in any way

Pat wrote:Well done Al! You're sure getting the Bass now a few times in those northern climes....a great achievement.
cheers pat. excluding those last 2 sessions we've only ever had bass on one occasion in the north before in the last 6 years :!: . so 2 on the trot is something else :P
grady wrote:some great session there lads, thats realy good load of fish, i bet it was great sport

Well done again with the Bass Al, and a very nice session on the whole. Nobody will be scoffing at the wildlife information signs in the car park now will they ?
