Re: THE MASTER ANGLER SHORE RESULTS ANOTHER BLOODY MESS
AGM’s are all well and fine but how many of the ordinary club anglers ever get to attend them or how many are ever told of what happens at them.
I know that this issue must be brought up at the AGM but that’s where the problem starts and ends.
This debacle will be brought up under any other business which at the end of the Agenda when everyone is sick s##t of some of the rubbish they had to listen to all day and are only interested in getting out of the place to catch the early train home. I know, I’ve been to enough AGM’s and delegate meetings to see important issues brushed under the carpet or held over to the next Central Council meeting. Thus the end of the story for another year.
Remember the Rule Book saga 4 years later and still no sigh of it.
Highlighting the master angler issue here is giving some anglers an insight into what happened. A lot of the angler who fished the masters went home thinking that they finished well based on the 1st. edition of results they received on the night.
As Jim said it’s not rocket science. I’ve co-ordinated the end results of Munster Closed Shore for 4 years using simple Excel calculations. The Jimmy Smith last year was done using the same system and no one has come back yet with a complaint. Doing a simple Z to A sort will show up any errors that are if you know what you are looking at.
A simple example of this is Keith who had 3 fish in the night session but only got 2 points while the 2 anglers who blanked got 2.5 points
I rest my case for now

Re: THE MASTER ANGLER SHORE RESULTS ANOTHER BLOODY MESS
if your blood boils strongly enough on this - get proposed by your club to go for a position on the board
the reason nothing changes is there is no one else going for the positions at the top tabel - if no one goes forward, how do you expect there to be any change?
i recommend that anyone with a vote should support the sub committees for all 3 codes and let them designate the organisation of the top competitions
and stop this one motion putting something in - one motion taking it out - another adding a bit, another taking away etc.
and as said before the 4 year wait on the rule book is completely farcical

Re: THE MASTER ANGLER SHORE RESULTS ANOTHER BLOODY MESS
i understand what you all are complaining about i fished the masters and finished in 11th place and was told i would be in the fish offs but after 2 days i began to hear of all the mistakes in the scores then the new results went up on the ifsa website and i was down to 13th place so now i dont know whether or not i have made the fish offs
i also got the results in the post and am none the wiser as there is no mention off the fish off at all.

Re: THE MASTER ANGLER SHORE RESULTS ANOTHER BLOODY MESS
If you are still in 13th place on the results you got in the post and hopefully that’s the final edition then you should still make the fish off.
There are 3 anglers in the top 10 who are already in the panel of 20 from last year so they go down the list to the next 3 anglers in line.
Also some anglers in the panel of 20 may not wish to fish in the fish offs then the angler after you in the masters are written to.
Once the dust settles down anglers who are in the top 10 from the masters will be written to also any other angler who may fall in line for a place

Mods i reckon this should be removed. Yes people are entitled to there opinions and errors may have occurred but this is not the place for it to be disputed and fell it may bring the site and the club members of SAI in to disrepute with the federation. If anybody feels agreived with the federation there is a process and a channel to go through

Re: THE MASTER ANGLER SHORE RESULTS ANOTHER BLOODY MESS
Thank you first of all
but i dont see this as the place to ridicule to IFSA. If you have a complaint submit it to your secretary and let him forward on your correspondence for it to be dealt with in a proffesional manner. If somebody or the organisation has let you down or the system down then express your views through the proper chains.
It makes us all look bad and puts off others from joining the federation.
Although i do see your point and agree it should be rectified. But in a more diplomatic fashion.
be the lesser of two evils is all i will say

if you are all so drunk off leave and set up your own fishing organization !if its that bad anglers will follow you in droves and an organization with no members tends to stop being one when it has no funds!

Great suggestion Roger... From the number of people that are forever miffed off with the IFSA, you would think that a second national body would have been set up already.

There is a second body its called EFSA Ireland. It was as setup around 12 years ago by people who were un happy with IFSA.MAC wrote:Great suggestion Roger... Personally I don't think another body would solve anything. Fly fisherman in Ireland have two national bodies both have there problems with one recently severing itself from the National Angling Council of Ireland.
