thanks nicki. allthow i would have swapped all those coalies for a few of those nice looking flounder you had on your last trip out we can't seem to get a bait out long enough for something different to find it before the coalies hammer it

thanks drew. we ended up at donaghadee yesterday from 2pm to 5pm and did'nt get so much as a nibble . the wind was howling out the mouth of the harbour and all baits kept coming back in untouched . there was'nt even a sign of a bloody crab. it was baltic thow, by 5pm we could'nt feel our hands or feet and that was with all the thermal gear on

thanks dave. that stupid cormorant had my heart going for a minute i kept thinking back to that night on wicklow harbour with fishface's rod and reel incident but i was thinking this one was'nt gonna get away as i was geared up with a 8/0 bronze o'shaunassy on a rig tied with 150lb mono going to a boat reel loaded with 300 yards of 50lb braid ,,,,,,,,,,,,, and then a bloody bait robbing bird pops up outta the water

SOME NICE FISH THERE GENTS AND A GOOD MIX TO BOOT! BAD CRAIC WITH THE A**HOLE ENCOUNTER. SOME PEOPLE SHOULD TAKE UP FISHING FOR A BIT OF STRESS RELIEF!!!! HOPING TO GET OUT WITHIN THE COMING WEEK, HAVEN'T MANAGED A TRIP IN NEARLY 6 WEEKS.

Really great session Al. Pity about that clown with the car in Portrush. Perhaps it was the banjo man as he has not been seen on the pier in Leenan for a while now.

nahh, i already had a run in with him 2 summers back in lenan and he gives us a wide birth since then . mabey he's like the wild mountain man and goes into hibernation during the winter months like a bear or something

i know noel, i'm like a lobster magnet or something mabey that wee lady was just looking for a bit of help to get the rubber band off the claw . but one thing i forgot to mention was that who ever had put the band on the claw never bothered to cut a v-notch in her tail, which i think they are supposed to do when they get found with a clutch of eggs

cheers razor. it's like someone flicks a switch at dusk and millions of 30cm coalies just appear from nowhere attacking everything in sight . but i can't complain as they keep you busy and warm in this cold weather

it amazes me how you can keep track of so many fish
usually i lose count or stop counting at 10
do you take a notebook with you?

well, i'm a bit of a compulsive snapper with the camera , but we always have an informal comp with the coalies to see who gets the most. so we keep calling out the count as they come in, so no one cheats (mentioning no names, jordan) . but if you get stuck at 10 you could try taking off your shoes and socks and that would at least get you to 20 man

Well done everyone That's some amount of fish you's got, great fishing and results You's must have been kept busy during each session re-baiting with all that lot! As for the eaget in the car who nearly ran over Jordan, well I am surprised he didn't go in for a swim! You and Mark must have been in a good mood that day, lucky for him!

WITH THE SMALL BAITED FEATHERS U CANT REALLY GO WRONG WHEN A SHOAL OF COALIES COMES IN.IT WAS LITERALLY SHORT LOB AND THEN BANG ,YOU COULD ACTUALLY SEE THEM TAKE THE BAITS

cheers guys, you did'nt even have to re-bait with those coalies, just plopped your gear back in and they were hitting the baited and unbaited feathers as equally hard .
thanks paula. me and mark did'nt really fancy starting the year off up on assault charges . and besides the fella was harmless enough, just ignorant . same old story, all mouth and no trousers . but sure we're used to it with working the pubs and clubs for years anyhow. he'd be like a cuddly kitten compared to some of the headers we've had to deal with in the past at work.
