Launched from Skerries, tried all areas around the islands, on to Lambey, again all areas.. Three rods for 5 hrs and not a single mackerel to be seen.

As a local, we usually catch Mackerel off Howth in early June when the first shoals appear. But, they only stay for a short time. They seem to move on with only small numbers being caught. They will appear again in numbers from Mid-july well in to September. Dont Give up there are still fish to be caught expecially if you stay in close to the back of the island.

i've had no prob getting macks for the last 4 weeks nearly always get them outside dun laoghaire harbour maybe just lucky.try a drift on the burford bank sometimes the place is alive with them
