why not buy a 3lb test pike rod i have an abu enticer 12 foot one it is very user frendly and will cast up to 2 oz for feathering and send a spinner miles am using it for scratching in calm weather and one day hope to bag a big bass on it and bend it backwards :D

To tell you the truth i'm getting back into the piking and course fishing laely so i'll probably end up buying one soon enough too :oops: :D

i find that pike rods are fine for whacking out a string of feathers but i dont like them for spinning as i find they are a bit too long and the abbreviated long butt tends to get in the way if you are casting all day.
i use a pike rod sometimes for feathering but use a 9ft spin rod for pollock or bass fishing. the ones i have at the moment are daiwa regals and sensors. decent rods , not too expensive and wil take a battering. had had wrasse to over 5lbs, bass to nearly ten, pollock to 10lbs and pike to 26lbs on them and they coped well
