Right so, we kick off at killary at 3pm. I suggest we have the check-in from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Check-in location in Leenane as Kieran suggested:
If anyone is going to be late, call me on the day. My mobile number is in the private forum.
Some of us are fishing on at Killary after the comp and people are staying all over the place. I suggest we tot the scores and sort prizes at the car park in Killary.
The forecast shows a minor risk of thunder storms on the day. If that materialises, everyone should move away from rods etc. until the storm passes.
Chance of LDS and eels here. LSDs are marked on sheet as 30cm. Eels under 100cm are marked as 30cm. Eels over 100cm are marked down as 75cm.
The best place to meet is in Leenane in the car park opposite the cafe cum craft shop just outside the village on the Westport side.

[UPDATED AGAIN, AND ONCE MORE FUR LUCK]
So far we have: alby, teacher, stevecrow74, donal domeney, Colin Keogh, mickthepainter, Marco, Kraken, blaker, croppyboy, FISHAHOLIC, KK, boycie89, Kieran, Seaniebo
Some people are still unsure: coaster
That's 15 + maybes, so we're definitely fishing the comp at the beach.

Just remembered that I am missing the tip of the beachcaster!

Time spent fishing is never time wasted...
2015 targets - a triggerfish, a specimen bass, a three bearded rockling to complete the set and something big and toothy from certain north Mayo deep water marks

On the basis that I have never been here before I nipped onto AA there to get a map. It reckons 283kms from Terenure and a time of 4 hours. Given the time of day we are talking about does 4 hours seem right?
My satnav is telling me 3 hours from terenure. :? Bloody technology.

Just spoke to one of the "sons of the soil" in here whos from that neck of the woods . He reckons we will fly to Galway in 2/2.5 and then its rally driving roads from there to Leenane.
He said attempting to drive them in the dark if a bit tired wouldn't be all that smart and as such I will no be joining the masses camping for the night!

Dublin to Galway is about 2hr 45 now with the new motorway - leave time to get out of Dublin/M50 carpark. I do this road a lot and you won't do it much faster than that unless you really want penalty points...
When you hit Galway you're likely to hit traffic as well. Allow at least 20 mins to get through Galway to the Clifden road. From Galway to Leenane is about 1hr 10 min - some dodgy bends on that road especially between Maam Cross and Leenane so be careful!
Leenane to the beach is another 15 mins... :)

Its called fishing, not catching. If it was called catching it wouldn't be fishing!

Very best of luck lads, unfortunately buddies (ex buddie  ) wedding had to come first. I know where I'd rather be though. Jonathan, if you could post the sheets to me next week, that would be great. I'll PM you my address. Lads remember, even if you blank, you must hand in a scorecard. No scorecard returned means no points. Also, make sure your names are filled in at the top too.
Cheers lads, You'll have a ball I'm sure and I hope the weather god smiles kindly..... Especially for those in the tents. Dont forget someone needs to do a report and I expect nothing less than the traditional 20 minute read..... :D
Best of luck again lads....
