Weather:calm,light se wind,hazy

Bait:ragworm

Rigs:single hook paternoster

Results:pollack ,ballan wrasse,goldsinny,poorcod,long spined sea scorpion,shore rockling.

Catch and Release:: Yes

Report: Had some manky rag left from a week of fishing so i headed down to see what was about.Not alot of bites compared to other days this week but i still got a few fish.I ended up with 2 tiny pollack,1 sea scorpion,1poorcod,3 fat shore rockling,2 goldsinny wrasse and 6 ballan wrasse 3 of which were below 8oz and the other 3 were 1lb/1.5lb/3.7lb.i was chuffed to bits with the 3.7lb`er it went like stink on the mini rod.I would`ve liked to get a photo cos it was brilliantly marked but i didn`t bring a net to hold it in the water while i got my camera ready :( still it was an enjoyable session

hi,

Where abouts is the best place to fish from bangor ive tryed from the platform, and the rocks to the right and along the back with notthin catching.

Using rag and fishing on bottom with single hook pat.

Thanks in advance

Your fishing the right spots ,but if your losing gear your not doing it right :lol: we normally fish the back of the pier down between gaps in the boulders ,hope be down tomorrow night for an hour or 2 ,so take a run down and i'll se if i can point you inthe right direction . Rag is the main bait for the wrasse .

i would fish slightly different to ronald. sliding float rig is the way to go for wrasse. very effective method and snag free. ragworm is definately the bait to stick with at bangor. great method to fish anywhere, just leave the hook off the rig to start with and test the depth by adjusting your elastic band. fish roughly a foot of the bottom and u will hit plenty of fish.

No chance of rag in trap and tackle at the moment ,but you should be able to get a few fresh mackerel as theres been a few caught from the pier in the last week or so ,or you could go down to the long hole at low water and collect a few crabs for wrasse .
