Questions Regarding Launching From Dun Laoghaire Harbour

Lads just a quick question regarding launching from Dun Laoghaire harbour. as I have done all my boating out of Howth I want to try out the other side of the bay and hope to make the trip this weekend Saturday or Sunday. With regards to launching the boat from Dun Laoghaire is there any restrictions in place or do the slip completely dry out if the tide is below a certain level (as Howth does).
I think I remember seeing that to park the car and trailer for the full day is €10.
Is the best place to launch near the old pier or should?
Any help would be very much welcomed.

you will be able to launch at all stages of tide but be aware of a very steep dropoff at the end of the slip the slip has a very slight slope to it i have seen cars and jeeps up to their front axels tyring to launch here  you might be better using a rope to launch but only attach rope when your at the water, i have seen the results of an accident down there few years back when gobshites unhitched at top of slip resulting in trailer taking off and one of the crew with a broken leg and boat and trailer launched off the side of the slip near the top   the result was barriers at the top of slip and a towing licence required before you could use it, but they are more relaxed about it now. there is another slip in the corner beside the narrow road that leads to west pier mid tide is what you need here steeper than the main one and used less might be a better option for you parking is 4€ per day for a car would be a wise decision to put another 4€ in for trailer leave both in the window
