daiwa kenzaki

well lads im gonna go ahead and buy a daiwa kenzaki 2 piece 30/50lb boat rod. found one for 100 euro on the internet. just want to know if anyone has had any problems with this rod.all the reports ive heard of have been positive.any input appreciated.

Have the 3 piece and ive had no problems, great rod.

The earliest examples had an issue with eyes but that was corrected in later models.
The Kensaki's are a beautiful blank (I am familiar with the 6/12 and 12/20). 30/50 will be a hefty rod. Is it you intention to use it for targeting "bigger" species?

hi i would go for the 12 to 20 lb class rod will suit most boat angling

yea 'jimc' it will hopefully be used to bring in the bigger species, conger, tope etc. im a member of a club and we have species comptitions which is for the bigger fella's, we also do trips down the west for some wreck fishing. only thing is il also be using it for my regular boat fishing aswell, pollack, cod, doggies, etc. do u think it would be a bit stiff and boring for this type of angling.

Personally I think the 30/50 would be a bit overkill.

I'd say it would be heavy for general fishing. The 6/12 is a beautiful rod for scratching around on the drift and the 12/20 would be a good all round rod that will make short work of any tope or conger, while still retaining the sport factor of smaller fish.

Hi, i have been using the 20/30 for a couple of years now, and found it to be a brilliant rod, light enough to feel the slightest twitch ( using braid ) and yet sturdy enough for wrecking. the action is perfect up to 6-7oz lead. for general fishing i use a slosh reel and it sits perfectly on it.
