East Cork

Hi lads, got the nod from the wife to go off fishing as she was glued to the rugby. I decided to fish a beach in east cork low tide was at 4pm. When I left home in north cork at 3pm there was good cloud cover but got to the mark brilliant sun shine & a small surf. I fish on till well into darkness without even a bite but conditions we're getting better as the surf was picking up was feeling confident of a Bass. Coming up to 9pm decided to have my last cast as was down to my last 2 Razor. Rod in the rest after about 5 mins a small rattle on the Bass rod & a classic slack line. Picked up the rod a reeled in the slack line & the rod being pulled down lifted in to the fish. Knew straight away the fish was a good 1 fought well all the way in & when I lifted him out of the surf the session was well worth it. He measured close to 70 cm as my measure only goes to 60cm I reckon he was about 6 or 7 lb. quick photo & laid him back into the water were he swam away strongly. ImageImage

nice going on the bass.
That beach has been fishing poorly of late and the one to the right of it is no better. One boat has done a lot of damage along that stretch of water.

Super fish well done as Donal said that area is only a pale shadow of its former self so you did exceptionally well to catch anything .The only thing that the netters have left down there are weavers and lumps of sea weed.
