Will be fishing the comp and a few hours after - not staying all night as I have to hightail it outta there back to dungarvan (gotta make work - cant get out of it  )
Have never been up this side of the country (disgraceful I know  )
so I will need to meet up with someone close to Galway area and follow them on from there if at all possible. What time is the comp?? and what time/where are we meeting etc??
Really looking forward to this one after the reports and pics of the meet. Looks like a fantastic spot.
Checked accuweather tonight and it doesnt look too promising
Ah well..
whatever the weather we'll weather the weather

Anyone know a good place to meet up for the draw and maybe get some grub?

I reckon you would be better off meeting in Clifden but give urselves plenty of time to get to Little Killary as it can be slow going at times :)

Cheers. nige. Any suggestions for a venue? I don't know the place at all. Roughly how long should we allow from Clifden to Killary?

Cliften might be a bit too far to travel. Meet in Leenane. You can get food in the hotel (seafood, and a little pricey). There is also a Cafe there as well. Drive time to scuba west will be about 25 mins. Then 15 mins across the field to the beach. Have the peg draw 2 - 1.5 hours before the comp to allow enough time for everyone to get to the mark. Still hopeful of making it, but not sure.

Hi
The best place to meet is in Leenane in the car park opposite the cafe cum craft shop just outside the village on the Westport side. I would recommend Westport in preference to Clifden for those of you coming from afar as the trip back would be on better roads than from Clifden, although its probably much of a muchness. Hope to make this one...

How about meeting at 12 in Leenane?
I'm supposed to be organising the draw, etc. If anyone is going to be late, can they take a note of my mobile number (in the private SAC forum) and give me a call.

hi lads im just wondering if it is worth bringing up all selections of baits or should i just stick to fish baits ??? cheers , boycie.
Wed Apr 18, 2007 4:10 pm
How are ya boycie. Personally I'd bring the maddies and rag etc if I had them but wouldnt be surprised if straight sandeel or mac outfished them. Bring what you can and then judge it by ear
